Data Analysis

PMPilot PMPilot can answer questions about your real project and portfolio data in natural language. Instead of building reports or exporting to Excel, just ask — and get the answer as a table directly in the chat panel.

What you can ask

Project Manager questions

  • Which tasks on Project Alpha are at risk of missing their deadline?
  • What is my spend vs. plan for active projects?
  • Are any team members overallocated this month?
  • Show me velocity trends for the last four sprints.
  • Which deliverables have been rescheduled more than once?

PMO questions

  • Which projects are in trouble but have no risk flags?
  • How is resource allocation distributed relative to strategic priority?
  • What is the delivery reliability trend across the portfolio this quarter?
  • Are there resource conflicts across projects in the next two weeks?

Executive questions

  • What is the split between strategic and operational capacity?
  • Where is portfolio risk concentrated?
  • Show me investment vs. return by program.

How it works

  1. You type a question in the PMPilot chat panel.
  2. PMPilot translates your question into a query against the ITM Platform DataMart.
  3. The results are presented as a table directly in the chat. No exports, no configuration needed.

Data Analysis respects the same access controls as the DataMart: Company Administrators and Full Access users can query all data, while Project Managers can only query data from their managed projects. Team Members and Project Guests do not have access.

Activation and deactivation

DataMart and PMPilot Data Analysis are activated by default for all accounts.

A Company Administrator or a user with a Full Access license can disable both by deactivating the "Datamart" extension from CONFIGURATION > CUSTOMIZATION > Extensions Panel.

Once disabled:

  • GraphQL queries against the DataMart will no longer return results.
  • PMPilot will no longer have access to the Data Analysis capability.

To re-enable, open the Datamart extension in the Extensions Panel and tick "Activate Datamart" in the Configuration tab.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost extra? No. Data Analysis is included in your ITM Platform subscription.

What data can PMPilot access? Project, program, and portfolio data stored in ITM Platform, including tasks, budgets, resources, risks, issues, purchases, and revenue. Access depends on your role — see the DataMart access table for details.

Is my data shared with third parties? No. Queries are processed securely within ITM Platform's infrastructure. All communications are encrypted. There is no data retention in third-party services, nor is your data used to train other models.

Can I also access the data programmatically? Yes. The DataMart GraphQL API is available for developers. See the DataMart GraphQL Documentation for details.
