PMPilot

PMPilot PMPilot is the AI assistant built into ITM Platform. It understands how the product works, follows project-management best practices, and can learn your organization's specific methodology.

What PMPilot can do

PMPilot offers three capabilities:

Custom Methodology PMPilot learns your organization's specific methodology and makes it available to the entire team right inside ITM Platform. Request activation from your Account Manager.
Data Analysis Ask PMPilot questions about your real project and portfolio data in plain language and get instant answers as tables. Active by default.

Can PMPilot make changes in ITM Platform?

The PMPilot chat panel is read-only: it searches, explains and analyzes your data, but it does not create, update or delete records. If you ask it to close tasks, change statuses, reassign work, move dates or log hours, it will answer with the information, not with the action.

To have AI actually perform those changes, use the MCP Server. Connecting an AI assistant (Claude, VS Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and any other MCP-capable client) to the ITM Platform MCP server lets the agent create and update projects, tasks, risks, issues, progress and time entries on your behalf, in bulk if needed, always with your own ITM Platform permissions.

Deletions are the exception: the MCP server has no delete tools, so records must be deleted in the ITM Platform interface or through the API.

How to access PMPilot

PMPilot is available in the chat panel on every screen in ITM Platform. Click the chat icon to open PMPilot and start asking questions.

  • The Project Management Assistant is always available with no setup required.
  • Custom Methodology must be activated by your Account Manager or by writing to support@itmplatform.com. See Custom Methodology for details.
  • Data Analysis is active by default when the DataMart extension is enabled. See Data Analysis for details.
