Portfolio Management in ITM Platform

Portfolio management is the strategic process of selecting, prioritizing, and overseeing projects and services to align with organizational goals and maximize value. A well-managed portfolio ensures that resources are allocated efficiently, risks are mitigated, and business objectives are met.

In ITM Platform, the portfolio consists of all the components (projects and services) managed within your organization. Instead of managing each project individually, portfolio management provides a high-level view that helps decision-makers assess performance, allocate resources, and balance priorities.

To navigate to the portfolio, go to MANAGEMENT > Portfolio in the main menu

The role of programs in portfolio management

If you need to group projects based on criteria such as objectives, departments, or clients, use programs. Programs allow you to organize related projects under a common framework, making it easier to monitor dependencies, track progress, and evaluate impact. Unlike portfolios, which include all projects and services, programs offer a way to create logical groupings that serve specific organizational needs.

Portfolio tabs

General tab

The General tab allows you to select the projects or services you want to manage and analyze. You can apply filters specifically to the General tab or extend them across all other portfolio tabs.

Financial analysis tab

The Financial Analysis tab displays all portfolio components along with their percentage of completion and budget details. The budget is categorized into: - Workforce budget - Purchases budget (under the Cost tab)

Additionally, the Revenue tab provides similar insights into the revenue generated by the portfolio components.

Schedule tab

The Schedule tab provides a Gantt chart view of all projects, services, and programs, including their dependencies.

Progress tab

The Progress tab displays each component along with: - Start and end dates - Assessment details - Percentage of completion

It also includes a section for significant events, highlighting key tasks or milestones at the portfolio level.

Portfolio dashboard

The Portfolio Dashboard tab presents pre-built charts and dashboards summarizing portfolio data. For further customization, use the Customizable dashboards section under the Management menu to create or modify dashboards according to your needs.
